Break my pen
Break my pen if you need to
You can tape my fingers together,
Take my hand if you need to
You can take the paper if you must
Take my eyesight at anytime
Share a moment here with me now,
Yes sometimes I am tormented
With a tune we can sing it.
So here's what I am saying
For whenever I might think.
Armed with my pen in hand,
So take whatever you might need.
If somehow it does please you
For it's just a tool of my trade.
But I will never tell you whether,
You've ruined any plans that I've made.
It doesn't work like it use to
For it's just at the end of my arm.
For it will only turn into dust.
Lost papers wont do me much harm.
But that wont stop the rhyme,
Forever stored here in my mind.
And I'll show you somehow
This wonderful life I did find.
And yes even a bit demented
But that's just the way I am.
Or let the postman bring it
For it's just the way that I am
The price I have been paying
Is rewarded in every verse.
That my life sure does stink,
I remember when things were worse.
No poem here was planned.
Just a flash as it came to be.
For now I've planted my seed,
Ther in your mind so poetically.
