I celebrate the day we met.
Prior loneliness I now forget.
You appeared out of nowhere.
When I thought life was unfair.
Nothing special was said that day.
But it was said in a beautiful way.
The words were soft and so kind.
Something about relax and unwind.
We shared a laugh and a smile.
I admittingly with some style.
You listened to what troubled me.
Showed me what a friend can be.
Never the judge, always an ear.
Never too proud to share a tear.
Never too scared to brave a fear.
A caring friend to hold so dear.
Gentle, firm, sharing and fearless.
Stopped a weeping that was tearless.
Crushed a pain and kindled a flame.
You did it all in friendship's name.
When the moon forgets to glow.
I won't forget this friend I know.
When the sun forgets to shine.
I won't forget you're friend of mine.
