Another glorious day it is this spring.
A phrase from the past does today ring.
Not of butterflies or the bee's sting.
It should be our most cherished thing.
Throughout the years wars have been fought.
From this fight freedom they have bought.
The eagle soars today I no not where.
To secure a freedom while he's there.
When the nation called these men stood tall.
Today I am pleading let's thank them all.
Freedoms given by those that have earned it.
I am truly thankful to them I will admit.
Picture the fears that they had to endure.
You'll be thankful of this I am sure.
Feel the fire as the riflemen charge on.
Artillery blast, bombs from until dawn.
The ship and her crew fight to be free.
Picture what's hidden under the calm sea.
Bravery shown through the horrors they seen.
Army, Air Force, Navy and U.S. Marine!
Feel their loneliness and feel their fear.
I thank them all as I wipe away this tear.
Proud they were and still proud today.
They've fought the battles so far away.
Thank you veterans, thank you so very much.
You were guided by God and His Glorious touch.
Thank you veterans for this freedom so grand.
Thank you Veterans for today we all stand.
Thank you for your brave deeds in the past.
Today you're honored by a flag at half-mast.
Our nation thanks you, and so shall I.
We're the greatest nation under the sky!
