Birthdays will come and they will go.
Presents concealed with ribbon and bow.
I didn't write this I think you should know.
Now it's your birthday and you say so?

Some poet was bored on a bright sunny day.
Sat down and wrote this poem this way.
The point of this poem I think you know.
Just a different way to say I love you so!

I'm not that blind, that I see things clearly.
Thoughts of you I'll always hold so dearly.
Now you're deeply lost in some strange thought.
Wondering where is the present I brought?

The poet didn't know I didn't buy any.
Shocked he was when I paid my penny.
